Looking for a safe weekend getaway during the COVID-19 pandemic? There’s an adorable, shabby-chic option less than 90 minutes west of Houston.
The Silos at 159, located just outside of Round Top, are the coziest and most unique vacation rentals you’ve likely seen in awhile.
Positioned on 10 acres of land, these Joanna Gaines-inspired rentals that are literally built using old grain silos have plenty of rustic charm. Plus they include air conditioning and heat, depending on which time of year you plan to visit.
Currently, the Silo Cottages rent on VRBO for about $260 per night, but that price could fluctuate depending on the season. There are only three cottages today, each of which have room for two to four guests (no kids or pets allowed, however).
And while they’re small, they are packed with all of the modern amenities you would expect, like a mini-fridge, coffeemaker and a full bathroom.
Reviewers have said many positive things about the bar, calling it a “cute place that gets you away from the city” and a “quaint and unique place to spend a few relaxing days”. Guests have also said they “enjoyed sitting on our little porch every morning watching the deer and drinking coffee.”
If you’re not familiar with Round Top, don’t worry. It’s a small town near La Grange. But Round Top is known for its annual antique festival and performances at the Round Top Festival Institute.
If you’re looking for an Instagram-worth getaway, the Silos at 159 might just do the trick.
