The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston kicks off an incredible collection of Broadway hits, holiday concerts, and family-friendly performances that will certainly keep you entertained over the next few months.
The Grand, located at 2020 Postoffice St. in Galveston, is a true treasure of Texas. The theatre has overcome treacherous storms and other challenges over the years, but the Galveston community has always come together to see it survive and thrive. What: Go back in time to 1945 as six soldiers return from war and help change a nation. Bandstand is a Tony Award-winning musical that features incredible music, dancing and riveting and moving storyline.
When: 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.

Vienna Boys Choir
What: The world-renowned Vienna Boys Choir brings its 500 years of musical tradition to the Grand with a concert that’s sure to thrill and delight music lovers of all ages. This year’s program includes the music Mozart and Haydn, in addition to holiday and folk songs heard around the world.

Jaston Williams in Blood and Holly — A West Texas Family Christmas
What: Writer and actor Jaston Williams, best known for the Greater Tuna saga, comes to Galveston to tell stories of his childhood around Christmas time, including a life-damaging Santa Claus experience that you won’t want to miss.
When: 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23; 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24

Merry Christmas from the Doo Wop Project
What: Get ready for some super-tight harmonies with holiday flare as the Doo Wop Project, which features stars of Broadway’s Jersey Boys, Motown The Musical and A Bronx Tale, put a Christmas twist on their music. Come early and browse the free Holiday Arts Market at ArtWalk exhibit in Edna’s Room at The Grand from 6-9 p.m.

Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol
What: Kick off December with Charles Dickens’ timeless holiday classic tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim and, of course, the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future! This musical features incredible sets, beautiful costumes and plenty of music and dancing.

Christmas with The 5 Browns
What: The ultimate Christmas concert just four days before the big day! Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer The Musical
What: Christmas may be over by Dec. 28, but the holiday spirit continues on through the end of the year — especially for the most-famous reindeer of all!
