Houston symphony neighborhood concerts

One of the best parts of summer every year is without a doubt the Neighborhood Concerts and ExxonMobil Summer Symphony nights hosted by the Houston Symphony. These free, family-friendly concerts are held in casual, accessible venues throughout Greater Houston and offer the community a more casual, accessible venue for seeing the symphony perform.

The Houston Symphony has finally announced the dates of this year’s free community concerts, marking the 79th straight year the symphony has given back to the community with these complimentary performances.

This year, concerts will be held on the following dates and at the following locations:

Neighborhood Concerts

These concerts offer the public a chance to hear some of the most popular modern compositions alongside timeless classic works. Pieces performed this year are all space-themed include Strauss’ Also sprach Zarathustra, Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony, the John Williams’ Flying Theme from E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, and more

June 4, 2019: Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 7:30 pm.  (7034 Tierwester St., Houston, TX 77021)

June 5, 2019: Morton Ranch High School, 8:00 pm. (21000 Franz Rd, Katy, TX 77449)

June 6, 2019: Dulles High School, 7:30 pm. 550 (Dulles Ave, Sugar Land, TX 77478)

June 7, 2019: North Shore Senior High School, 7:30 pm. (353 North Castlegory Dr, Houston, TX 77049)

ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights

Admission is free for hill seating at these concerts, but tickets are required for seats in the covered area. Four free tickets per person are available at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm on the day of each performance.

All ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights concerts are held at Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, TX  77030 on the following dates and times:

June 22, 2019, 8:30 pm: Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet

June 28, 2019, 8:30 pm: Dvo?ák’s “New World” Symphony

June 29, 2019, 8:30 pm: Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony

July 4, 2019, 8:30 pm: Star Spangled Salute
