Happy Hour Thursdays at the Museum of Fine Arts
What: Take advantage of Free Museum Thursdays and enjoy the exhibitions while getting your grub on. Specialty cocktails, beer, and wine are available at the bar as well as a food truck lineup.
Why: The museum’s over sized, breezy patio entrance takes on a relaxed, street-cafe feel; a perfect stop before or after heading into the exhibits. Get your daily dose of art and culture without going hungry!

Food Trucks at Memorial Park 
What: A rotation of food trucks are available to munch on while walking or hiking through the shaded trails of Memorial Park. Complete with bathrooms and picnic areas, this event makes the perfect nature-loving lunch.
Why: Over 30 miles of lush trails provides plenty of room to work off those calories. You can also help the park’s conservation efforts by recording wildlife in the park and adding your observation to their Biological Inventory.

Work Out

Zumba at Midtown Park 
What: Join us in the park for a FREE Zumba class, an aerobics program inspired by various styles of Latin dance. This high-energy fitness class is set to upbeat Latin music and teaches choreographed moves to get the heart rate pumping and improve flexibility and fitness.
Why: Zumba combines all the elements of exercise- cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility- while emphasizing fun overall. If you’re into fitness, Zumba is one of the top things to do in Houston this week.

H.I.I.T. at Levy Park by The Preserve Gym 
What: Featured every Tuesday at Levy Park is High Intensity Interval Training  hosted by the Preserve Gym. Characterized by bursts of intense physical activity combined with short rests, H.I.I.T. is a great way to improve heart health. Mats are provided or you can bring your own.
Why: There’s no better place than to get your workout grind on than in one of the nation’s best urban parks. Cool down afterward by hitting the water features or taking a stroll on the promenade.

Family Fun

Junior Scientists at Nature Discovery Center  
What: Bring kids aged 6-10 for hands-on experiments and investigations, as well as lessons enriched with crafts, games, and more at the Nature Discovery Center. This week’s theme is Animal Offspring.
Why: Explore the natural world and encourage the love of learning and science with the fun-filled, engaging Junior Scientists program. You can enroll in classes for the semester or by the week.

Kingwood Farmer’s Market at Town Center Park 
What: Save your grocery trip for after you hit the Farmer’s Market and shop for home grown produce as well as baked goods, jams, and more. 
Why: Support small businesses and shop local under the backdrop of picturesque Town Center Park. Street closures near the park allow for safer walking during events so find a parking space and head for the white tents!

Entertainment

Bayou City Music Series: Bun B at Discovery Green
What: The much anticipated music festival kicks off this March with performances by acclaimed Houston rapper Bun B celebrating Houston’s best zydeco, jazz, and blues musicians as well as honoring HSPVA’s nationally acclaimed jazz program. 
Why: This year marks the 10th anniversary of the first-ever event in 2008 and is opened by performances from HSPVA’s Jazz Ensemble, Milton Hopkins, and Jewel Brown.

Open Mic Comedy Night at Rudyard’s British Pub 
What: Monday Night Open Mic’s are back at Rudyard’s with everything from beginners to seasoned comedy vets.
Why: Support Houston’s local talent while laughing it up, getting your drink on, or having a game of darts at one of Houston’s best open mic comedy events. It’s one of the funniest things to do in Houston this week!
