Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta

Get ready to join the largest canoe and kayak race in Texas! Participants aged 12 and above can compete in solo, tandem, or unlimited boating categories. You can also just paddle for fun along a 15-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou. If you just want to watch, then you can cheer the participants along the race route and at the finish line at Allen’s Landing. Finish line festivities will start at 11 am and end at 2 pm.

Enjoy the Museum of Fine Arts Houston’s latest in its series of grand-scale immersive presentations this weekend. This presentation will bring together two works from the Museum’s collections, “Pixel Forest” and “Worry Will Vanish.” 

“Pixel Forest” features 3000 LED lights encased in resin spheres suspended from the ceiling on cables. Each light is also controlled by a signal so that the forest is constantly changing. Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist, the maker of the presentation describes it as a digital image that has exploded in space. 

“Worry Will Vanish,” on the other hand, is an enchanting video footage that will take you on a dreamlike journey through a natural landscape, the human body, and the heavens.
