Historic Harbor Tour & Dolphin Watch in Galveston

Historic Harbor Tour & Dolphin Watch

On the Historic Harbor Tour and Dolphin Watch, Galveston Historic Seaport’s 50-foot twin-engine motor vessel, see Galveston Harbor up close. She’s the perfect platform for aquatic experiential learning since she’s fast, steady, and sheltered. She was constructed expressly for port sight-seeing excursions and instruction.
When: Open Tuesday-Sunday, tours last 1 hour and depart at 10:15, 11:30, 1:30, 2:45, and 4 p.m.

Ticket: Adults & children (6 & up) $17, children (5 & under)  free

 

It’s the Rodeo for Me Wonderweek at Children’s Museum Houston

Kids can celebrate the Rodeo and all things Texan by inking bluebonnets, making bolo ties, and making their very own stickhorses. While they’re at it, kids can extract DNA from wheatgerm, experiment with thermoplastic polymers, and learn how to make finger skateboards.

The whole family can learn about art surrounded by European artwork of the Rococo and Neoclassical styles at the Rienzi house museum. The beautifully decorated house will serve as your inspiration with its portraits, sculptures, and architecture. This week’s focus is “Life Drawing with Costumed Models in the Gardens.” You’ll receive instruction in the fundamentals and then have time for free sketching. All skill levels are welcome. Materials will be provided.

Rock the Block Street Festival at the Children’s Museum Houston

Celebrate Spring Break with a street festival just for kids. Enjoy music from DJ Mister Duke, a performance by Cirque La Vie at 1 p.m., art cars on display, a dunk tank, and plenty of fun inflatable carnival games.

Islamic Arts Family Experience at MFAH

Visit the Museum of Fine Arts Houston for a chance to explore Islamic art in a hands-on way. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the Art of the Islamic Worlds galleries, make your own geometric art, and then watch as artists demonstrate Ebru paper-marbling, Arabic calligraphy, and ceramic painting right in front of your eyes.
