Houston Rodeo: World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest

What better way to start the rodeo season than with juicy, yummy, and steaming hot barbeque of all kinds? This Thursday, this much-awaited cookoff is back at NRG Park. Here, more than 250 teams will be competing for the winning title. And while the tents are private and are only available by invite, all visitors can explore other venues like the Rockin’ Bar-B-Que Saloon, the Chuckwagon where you can pick up your complimentary sliced brisket place with chips and beans, and The Garden Stage which will feature up-and-coming Texas country performances.

Watch as thousands of people on horseback together with beautiful decorative floats parade through Downtown Houston for the Rodeo Parade! The parade route will start at Bagby and Walker Streets traveling from Travis to Bell Street and from Bell Street to Louisiana Street. It will then turn at Lamar Street and end at Lamar and Bagby. Make sure you get a good watching spot!
