This is one huge park and they have it all. You can go fishing, golfing, running, and more, all in one area. They have multiple playground areas. You will find covered seating areas and plenty of areas to BBQ while you watch the wildlife. Be sure to check out the sand volleyball courts, community gardens, dog park, and the amphitheater!

Southdown Park

This park is complete with walking trails, covered and uncovered playgrounds, a splash pad, volleyball courts, and even an off-leash dog park! They have free outdoor concerts going on this summer through the end of June. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and a picnic.

Zychlinski Park

A small neighborhood park named after the founder of Pearland, this is a great place for walking trails and basketball. The park also offers seating for picnics. While you’re there, be sure to check out the War Memorial and the Pearland Time Capsule!

Pear Scape Art Sculpture Trail

An initiative to support the arts and encourage tourism has resulted in twenty painted pears placed around town. The pears are about four feet high and feature a variety of colorful designs by artists. They are placed in ten different locations so make a scavenger-hunt out of it!

1940 Air Terminal Museum

A beautiful building with vintage aircraft and a carefully curated museum lies right next to Hobby Airport. Admission to the museum is cheap and there is plenty to see from galleries to films. It’s also a great place to do some plane spotting- watch for planes landing and taking off at Hobby Airport.

Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe Railroad Depot

Learn about the history of the railroads in the area and how they were used at the Railroad Depot. View the structures from the outside and read about the history of the railroad. The facilities are not currently open to the public due to damage so don’t expect a tour. But, you can still take in the sights from outside, including a Southern-Pacific caboose.

Kids’ Backporch Productions
