The Woodlands Farmers’ Market was first established in 2008 and has been going strong ever since. 2. Concert in the Park
On select Sundays, head to Northshore Park in the Woodlands for an evening of free live musical entertainment out in the open air. You can bring picnic blankets, food, and the whole family. The concert series is a seasonal program open to all music lovers.

3. Riva Row Boat House
Riva Row Boat House is a boat rental service that offers equipment for people who want to explore the Woodlands waterway and Lake Woodlands. You can rent out a kayak, stand-up paddle board, swan boat, or water bike, depending on whether you’re interested in a leisurely afternoon on the water or are looking to try something more athletic and challenging. The views are spectacular no matter which one you pick.

4. The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is an open-air amphitheater where you can often see your favorite artists performing. The Pavilion focuses on making the arts accessible to as many people as possible, so it also stages operas, symphonies, and ballets. For many of their performing arts shows, they offer free seating to make sure all music lovers have a chance to enjoy the performances.

5. The Woodlands Children’s Museum
The Woodlands Children’s Museum is a museum that caters to a younger crowd. 6. The Woodlands Waterway Trolley
The Woodlands Waterway Trolley is a charming transportation system that gives visitors a chance to see all the sights and hop off every so often in the Town Center. The trolleys are free to ride, so you can take a scenic ride along the Woodlands Waterway before enjoying the shopping and restaurants the town has to offer.

7. Texas Treeventures
Texas Treeventures is a zipline challenge course in The Woodlands that takes advantage of the abundant greenery in the area. The course is great for adrenaline junkies–it’s designed to push people to their limits. It has three levels and 72 obstacles to keep you moving and thinking the whole time you’re there. The courses are kid-friendly, but keep in mind that children will be expected to have a parent with them on the course and meet certain weight and height requirements for safety purposes.

8. The Woodlands Mall
The Woodlands Mall is a sprawling shopping center situated near the Woodlands Waterway. You can take the trolley over to the mall, then browse their more than 150 stores. There are quite a few kid-friendly spaces to keep your kids entertained during the shopping experience, as well as a food court with plenty of options for the whole family.

9. Rob Fleming Aquatic Center
There are few things quite as fun as going to a water park when it’s hot out, and Rob Fleming Aquatic Center has all the attractions you could hope for: splash pads, a lazy river, water slides, a massive dumping bucket, and more. It may be fall, but that doesn’t mean that Houston can’t still be muggy and hot, so you should definitely keep this park in mind.

10. George Mitchell Nature Preserve
The George Mitchell Nature Preserve is 1,800-acres of trails, trees, and wildlife. It’s right next to Treeventures, so you can choose between hikes and biking or ziplining once you’re in the area–or just opt for both. Enjoy a shady walk through the miles of forest trail along Spring Creek.
