See Houston’s best public art. Loop at Avenida de las Americas, Gust at Discovery Green, Open House at Sam Houston Park, and all of Houston’s best public art is free and open to the public every day of the week- including holidays!

Visit one of Houston’s best parks. Discovery Green, Levy Park, Evelyn’s Park, and more will not be hosting any regular or special events on Christmas Day but they’re still open for you to run and play!

Jingle Junction is a wonderfully decorated winter wonderland at Cypress United Methodist Church. The entire front lawn is decked out in multiple Christmas displays which make the perfect photo- op. Bring your camera- the event is free and open to the public every day during daylight hours.

Admission to the Kemah Boardwalk is always free and they’re open on Christmas Day! Enjoy the food and rides in on awesomely decorated pier.

Check out a holiday show at one of our local churches. Nearly every church is hosting a Christmas Candlelight Service, carols, or story time on Christmas Day.

See the Reindeer at  the City of Meadows Place Nature Center. Admission is $2 per child and $5 per adult. They’re open Daily through December 27th from 12 noon until 3 pm.

Our Theatre District is one of the best in the nation and there is no shortage of awesome plays to attend. Get a dose of art and culture while celebrating on Christmas Eve. Plays happening now are A Christmas Carol, Peter Pan on Stage, The Nutcracker, and more.

Go ice skating at any of Houston’s Ice Rinks. The Ice Rink at Woodlands Town Center, the Baytown Ice Rink, and the Ice at Discovery Green is open every day, including holidays! Watching the skaters is always free, or you can try it out yourself. Admission fees and skate rentals apply.

Grab some bottled waters, extra blankets, and clothing or canned goods, and deliver them to someone in need. You can also surprise a friend or neighbor in need. You can also join The Holiday Project and visit nursing homes, hospitals, and more to spread Christmas Cheer.

Meet Santa Claus, do crafts, play Christmas Bingo, and more at Fun Plex. All activities are included with the price of admission. Fun Plex is open 2 pm- 11 pm on Christmas Day.

For something truly different and magical, check out Mr. McKinney’s River Oaks Christmas Lights Tour. The tour bus regularly gives bus tours of Houston’s history but they’re putting on a special Christmas light tour of River Oaks. Admission fees apply.
