2. Family BINGO Night at the Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park

For things to do with kids this weekend that are both fun and educational, visit George Ranch Historical Park. With fall in full colorful swing, the park has given local designer, Lucas Chavez, two semi truckloads of pumpkins, gourds, and squash to make a display with, along with a chuck wagon, antique plows, and more. Visitors will get the chance to take incredible fall photos as well as enjoy the park and all it has to offer, with exhibits and staff who teach about ranch life in the Old West.

Karbach Brewing is hosting a family-friendly Day of the Dead-themed mercado with food trucks, live musical performances, and mariachi music. There will also be an ofrenda (or altar) for those who want to observe the holiday, albeit a few days late. Enjoy special-edition sugar skull glassware, too.

7. The Accordion Kings & Queens at Miller Outdoor Theatre

Come out and watch the 32nd annual Accordion Kings & Queens live and in person. You’ll hear all the best toe-tapping accordion music, including conjunto, polka, zydeco, and Cajun. Jeffery Broussard & The Creole Cowboys and Christina Valdez are this year’s headliners. To watch the show at Miller Outdoor Theatre, you can get up to four tickets for the covered seating area online, but they go fast. If you’re okay with sitting on the hill picnic-style, you don’t have to worry about tickets. You can also watch the event online via live stream here.

9. Family Zone on the Go at The Museum of Fine Arts Houston

Visit The Museum of Fine Arts Houston on select Sundays for special interactive activities for kids to enjoy. The Family Art Cart will be making the rounds through the galleries with coloring pages, colored pencils, and knowledgeable staff members happy to answer questions from curious young artists. At 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the museum holds Storybook Circles to connect art pieces to engaging and exciting narratives for kids to enjoy.

10. Jazzy Sundays at Buffalo Bayou: Horace Grigsby and David Caceres

Sundays this fall, the Kinder Foundation is working with local park conservancies to bring you family-friendly jazz concerts. The goal is to celebrate the history and evolution of jazz while also making your Sundays just a little more fun and relaxing. Throughout November, the concerts will be at The Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Park. This week, Horace Grigsby will open the show, and the headline act is David Caceres.
