There’s a new patio bar in the Heights serving up tequila-fueled tiki cocktails, and while they’ve been open for a short while now, you can celebrate their official grand opening in a big way this weekend. Houston bar Tikila’s is set to have its official grand opening Friday, November 8 at 3:00 pm to Sunday, November 10 2:00 am.
This free event is the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the cooler weather while enjoying drink specials, free food, and great entertainment. It’s sure to be one of the best things to do in Houston this weekend!
Planning a fun night out at Houston’s new bar Tikila’s might just be what you didn’t know you needed. Featuring unique craft tiki cocktails, rums, mezcals, and much more, Tikila’s has already made quite a name for itself in our great city of Houston.
The bar, which has officially been open since August, has brought Tiki vibes to the Heights that were heard around the whole city. Houstonia describes it as, “…an oasis amid a gray, concrete landscape. On the corner of 27th and Shepherd in the Heights, the tiki bar’s pair of palm trees wrapped in Christmas lights brings necessary color to an area known more for its North Loop traffic.”
The popular bar is the creation of Jason Lowery (co-owner of Bovine & Barley, Extra Credit Rooftop Bar, and HTX Fan Tavern), Sammy Saket (co-owner of Izakaya) and James Cole, who formerly owned Revolver Bourbon Social.
Lowery gave some insight into their creation stating, “The idea for Tikila’s was to create a free flowing, beach-like vibe patio bar. The name came about as a play on words highlighting both tequila and tiki cocktails. It allows us not to be so pigeonholed to having a straight tiki-style menu.”
Tikila’s was named #1 on a list of top ten patio bars to enjoy in Houston by KRPC’s Houston Life and now you have a chance to experience it to the full extent at their grand opening.
