If you’re looking for a quick getaway this holiday season with plenty of Christmas charm, you’re in luck.
The “Lone Star” is a tiny house nestled on Holiday Acres, a 10-acre Christmas tree farm owned by Leigh Ann and Rocky Smith. It’s a great place to visit during the holidays, and is just a short drive from Houston down in Manvel.
The tiny home, which you can rent on Airbnb starting at $70 per night, draws visitors year-round. Guests are typically escaping the hustle and bustle of Houston for the sounds of birds and frogs in the quaint Texas countryside.
While rustic, these 144-square-foot tiny homes are packed with modern amenities, like a TV, WiFi, and air conditioning. It also includes plenty of clever activities, like Bananagrams, a deck of cards
For a couple looking to cut down their Christmas tree for the season, the tiny home offers easy access to the farm.
Even if you’re not getting a tree, the farm is the perfect canvas for an afternoon hike (watch out for snakes and snapping turtles!). The rustic porch is the perfect setting for your morning coffee. And as the sun begins to set, don’t be surprised with Leigh Ann and Rocky drop off a basket filled with ingredients for s’mores!
And if you want to get off the farm to eat out, you’re close to Pearland and Alvin, where there are a handful of solid restaurants.
In an interview last year with Houstonia, Leigh Ann Smith, whose house is also on the property, said, “We’re about making memories for people — that’s really our passion and our focus.”
As of Nov. 19, the home is available to rent for most of December, but that’s expected to change soon. Click here to learn more and book your stay today.
