If you were like most people planning to get out of the Houston heat this summer, then you might have purchased tickets to a waterpark ahead of time. Most likely to take the kiddos and maybe even to get that tan you’ve been working on in your backyard. But if you originally bought tickets to Splashtown for this summer, then you probably already know that money went down the drain. Or did it?
While Six Flags’ Hurricane Harbor Splashtown may be temporarily closed, there’s another Houston waterpark that wants to take you out of that blazing summer heat.
Typhoon Texas located in Katy will now be accepting all season passes that were originally purchased for Splashtown. All it takes for some fun in the sun is presenting your 2020 Splashtown season pass at Typhoon Texas and your pass is good to go for the remainder of the season.
Typhoon Texas recently reopened with new safety protocols in place, including only selling tickets online (no walk-ins allowed), no lines for attractions, and more.
Just in case you didn’t buy a Splashtown season pass but want to join in on the fun you can still purchase a pass to Typhoon Texas for the price of $59.99 per person.
Also, if Splashtown happens to reopen during this season, then pass holders get to attend both parks.
“Our guests appreciate we’re open with an advanced online reservation system to ensure we remain well within capacity limits established by Governor Abbott,” said Evan Barnett, president of Typhoon Texas, in a press release.
Barnett also said that Typhoon Texas will continue requiring reservations in advance to attend the waterpark. The easy to follow guide includes selecting a date, time of arrival, and group size. When attendees arrive, they can choose their seating area that will follow along with socially distant guidelines. It should also be noted that walk-up sales and entry are not available at this time.
Typhoon Texas is comprised of a Texas-sized wave pool, a lazy river that’s more than 500 yards long, and a variety of water slides that are sure to get your heart rate up. They also offer a children’s Gully Washer that contains 800 gallons of water with slides included and over 100 spray areas.
The fun doesn’t end there. Typhoon Texas is a proud Lone Star State inhabitant serving Texas-sized fun and taste with barbecue made in house that’s made from scratch, slow smoked and super zesty.
For the 21 and over crowd, the Double T Bar offers a variety of drinks including draft and bottled beer, cocktails and frozen alcoholic beverages to help keep you cool.
Typhoon Texas is located at 555 Katy Fort Bend Road next to Katy Mills Mall, 1.5 miles west of the Grand Parkway. Free parking is available on-site.
