free uhaul storage college students

In efforts to help displaced college students U-Haul has announced it will be offering 30 days of free self-storage at U-Haul owned and operated facilities. This comes just days after the announcing of nationwide university closures.

Most universities across the country have turned to a remote, stay at-home type format. This is to help the efforts of social distancing. All this comes with the precautions to stop the spread of the coronavirus or COVID-19.

Many schools have also turned to an extended spring break. This is in order to alleviate some tension that might arise from students traveling and trying to come back to the United States.

Some schools have shut down campuses completely, forcing students to find a way to get back home to their families.

These unforeseen schedule changes at schools across the country have left many college students displaced and in need of moving and storage solutions. U-Haul’s stepping up to the plate with a free month of storage for affected students can be very helpful during these uncertain times.

How To Get Your Free 30 Days Of Storage

According to U-Haul, the free month begins whenever students show up with their college ID. The only catch is the student must be a new customer of U-Haul and not an existing one. You can click here to find the U-Haul storage facility nearest you.

The company stated that it’s a limited time offer that is subject to the availability of the U-Haul facility nearby.

College students can also utilize the company’s Collegeboxes, which will hold their personal belongings and ship them to college campuses nationwide. Collegeboxes is available to over 205 schools.

College students in need of a way to transfer and/or hold their personal belongings will also be able to utilize the company’s Collegeboxes. This will help students by allowing them to ship the boxes before they have to transfer belongings to U-Haul.

U-Haul President John Taylor has come out with a statement regarding the matter. Stating, “We don’t know how every student is affected. But we know they are affected.”

He also stated that “More and more universities are giving instructions to leave campus and go home. Students and their parents are in need of moving and storage solutions. We have the expertise and network to help, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”

U-Haul has stated to retrieve this offer or to get more information to contact the store nearest to you in person or by phone.
