Your University of Houston Cougars are looking to make it two in a row against a tough Southern Methodist University team this week on a special night honoring members of the military and first responders.
UH takes on the Mustangs of SMU at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at TDECU Stadium. Tickets start at only $15 for general admission. The game will be airing live on ESPN, so the stadium is sure to be rocking!
The Cougars are taking some momentum from a game they won out east last week versus Connecticut, 24-17. But 16th ranked SMU — a team that many college football experts expected to struggle against Houston in the preseason — will pose a tough challenge.
SMU brings a perfect 7-0 record into this AAC matchup, coming off a convincing 45-21 win over Temple last week. Meanwhile, Houston is 3-4, and 1-2 in the AAC. It’s going to be a tough challenge, but with a stadium full of fans cheering on the team, victory is possible!
If you have kids 13 and under, you will want to stop by the Shasta Square Kids Zone to enjoy games, inflatables and get a temporary tattoo. You don’t want to miss the all-important Cougar Walk, led by head coach Dana Holgorsen and his players at 4 pm.
Fans will also have the opportunity to get their picture taken with the Heisman Trophy. The team will be honoring the 1989 Cougars with Andre Ware and celebrating the 30th anniversary of him winning the Heisman Trophy.
Remember, tickets start at only $15 for general admission with this special offer for our readers!
