British novelist Agatha Christie is widely regarded as one of the best mystery writers of all time and is listed by Guinness World Records as the best-selling novelist of all time. Christie’s works are ranked third in the world’s rankings of most-widely published books, trailing behind only the works of William Shakespeare and the Bible. Aside from her 66 detective novels, Christie also published several plays. Luckily for mystery fans, one of those plays is coming to Houston this month to thrill audiences with a mystery that leaves them guessing until the curtain comes down. Even better, you can get half-off tickets to this thrilling production if you act now.

Witness for the Prosecution is one of Christie’s most accomplished plays. The play tells the tale of Leonard Vole, a man accused of murdering wealthy older woman Emily French. French had made Vole the principal heir to her estate shortly before her death, casting suspicion on him when she suddenly dies. Much of the play occurs in the courtroom as various witnesses and prosecutors attempt to unravel the mystery of Miss French’s death.

The play is being put on by Houston’s own The Company OnStage theater. Since 1977, the Company OnStage has brought a variety of classics, comedy, mystery, drama, and fairy tales to the stage through the efforts of volunteers. The Company OnStage also devotes much of its efforts to educating and developing the best young talent here in Houston through its Young Audience Series productions.

Tickets for Witness for the Prosecution start at $18, but you can get them for just $9 through All it takes is a free membership which you can sign up for with any valid email address of Facebook account.
