A Texas icon is taking its delicious show on the road for its 70th birthday.

Burger chain Whataburger has unveiled its brand new, orange-and-white food truck, which it plans to take on a multi-state tour beginning in 2021. In many cases, the food truck tour will serve as a preview of Whataburger’s delicious offerings in new cities where it plans to open restaurants in the future. The Whataburger food truck will also make stops in existing markets, so cross your fingers that there will be some Houston-area visits!

The truck is an absolute beast. Measuring in At 36-feet long and with 24-feet of cooking space that’s powered by a 30,000-watt generator, it’s a legitimate brick-and-mortar restaurant, but on wheels. The truck was built with the help of San Antonio-based custom food truck design company Cruising Kitchens. The build of the truck will be featured on an episode of the reality show “Built for Business” on MotorTrends.

“We wanted a way to connect even more with our communities and to introduce Whataburger to new customers in a new and exciting way,” said Rich Scheffler, vice president of marketing and innovation for Whataburger in a news release. “And this truck is a showstopper.”

Scheffler added:

“We have worked on the idea of a Food Truck for years, but we didn’t want it to roll out of the garage until it could turn heads and bring our restaurant quality food to the road. This truck fits the bill.”
