IKEA is celebrating 20 years in Houston with a Texas-sized birthday party this Saturday, October 20. Kick off the day with free breakfast, 9:30 am – 11 am, in the restaurant. Kids will love the face painting, magic shows, balloon art, juggling, and more from noon – 6 pm. Join in the happy birthday sing-along at 3 pm with cake balls from Phoenicia Specialty Foods made to resemble the store’s signature meatball plate. Play in the chalk with Via Colori Bambini on the plaza from 11 am – 3 pm. IKEA Houston will donate $20 to The Center for Hearing and Speech for each plaza square an IKEA customer decorates. The real Via Colori event, November 17-18, fills the downtown streets with beautiful artwork created by professional chalk artists — all to support The Center for Hearing and Speech.
