Free Legal Assistance for Houston Disabled July 19

The Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) is offering a free legal advice clinic July 19, 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm, to people with disabilities. Volunteer attorneys will provide brief legal advice in a variety of areas: bankruptcy, consumer, family (divorce, custody, child support), guardianship, immigration law, IRS controversies, landlord/tenant and wills & probate. This event is sponsored by Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program and Lyondell/Bassell. Located at Metropolitan Multi-Service Center, 1475 W. Gray.
South Texas College of Law also offers free legal clinics for people with disabilities the third Thursday of each month. The next one is July 19, 1 pm – 3 pm. Topics include community education, estate planning, family law and probate every third Thursday of the month at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center, 1475 West Gray,
