FRIDAY
Enjoy live music — Enjoy an evening with Silvertouch featuring rock, pop, soul, blues, country, and dance from the ’70s to today’s hits. Don’t be surprised if you’re cheering, singing, dancing, playing the air guitar and walking down memory lane! Located at Central Green Park in Katy, 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.
Watch movies under the stars — 1) Market Square Park: Head downtown for the Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow screening of Dirty Dancing . Celebrating its 30th anniversary! Movie begins at 8:30 pm but arrive early with your blanket or chairs. Located at 301 Milam. 2) The Square at Memorial City: Enjoy a free outdoor movie screening of Jumanji at The Square at Memorial City. It’s all part of Flashback Friday with movies from the ’90s each Friday
Learn to salsa dance — Enjoy free salsa dance lessons at Latin Beats every Friday night at Downtown Aquarium. Learn salsa dancing from professional dance instructors from 7 pm – 11 pm. A live band will play, since it’s the last Friday of the month. The Aquarium is located at 410 Bagby at Memorial.
SATURDAY
Free yoga in the park — The summer series, Savasana into Summer, continues Saturdays at Hermann Park, thanks to Namitzi Yoga. The free weekly yoga class outdoors is open to all skill levels. Meditation is 8:15 am – 8:25 am with yoga from 8:30 am – 9:30 am. This is located on the east side of the Jones Reflection Pond at Hermann Park. No prior experience needed!
Relax with Tai Chi — Engage in Tai Chi Saturday mornings in Katy at 8:30 am. This slow and gentle exercise — perfect for all levels– is a Chinese exercise system that uses slow body movements to achieve a state of relaxation. Located at Central Green Park, 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.
Learn about basket weaving — This month’s Second Saturday Settlers Series is all about Woodworking, 1 pm – 3 pm at Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center. Families can watch the homestead come to life as they learn daily activities of Texas settlers. Located at 20634 Kenswick Drive in Humble
Watch movies under the moon — 1) Discovery Green: Enjoy a free screening of Trolls Saturday, 8:30 pm. Located at 1500 McKinney. 2) Central Green Park: Catch a free outdoor screening of Hidden Figures at WFDD Central Green Park in Katy. Movie begins at dusk. 3) Sugar Land Town Square: Get ready for fun with a free screening of Pete’s Dragon beginning at 8:30 pm. 4) Tomball: Enjoy Christmas in July watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas at Tomball’s 2nd Saturday at The Depot. The event is 6 pm – 10 pm at 201 S. Elm.
Listen to classical music — Head to The Woodlands for another free Houston Symphony concert Saturday, 8 pm, called Symphonic Sights and Sounds. Free mezzanine and lawn seats are available. The conductor, Francesco Lecce-Chon will host the evening, explaining what the audience should be listening for throughout the pieces as well as bits of historical and biographical information on the music and composers. Doors open at 7 pm for pre-concert activities. The performance begins at 8 pm. Located at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, 2005 Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands.
Play at summer camp — Family Summer Camp at Bass Pro Shops continues Saturday with free activities for kids Saturdays and Sundays (& Thursday) plus family workshops and more. Family Summer Camp lasts from noon to 5 pm through July 23. Engage in activities such as casting challenge, BB shooting range, weekly crafts and free workshops. Bass Pro Shops has two Houston-area locations in Katy (5000 Katy Mills Circle) and Pearland (1000 Basspro Drive).
Enjoy outdoor fun — It’s another weekend of free family fun thanks to 2nd Saturday at The Depot. The monthly event in Tomball celebrates Christmas in July with holiday activities and games, concessions, music and How the Grinch Stole Christmas on the giant inflatable screen. Event from 6 pm – 10 pm with the movie beginning at dark. Located at 201 S. Elm.
SUNDAY

All the events are for friday and Saturday but nothing for sunday, where are the events?
I only share free events and sometimes there just aren’t that many on Sundays.
