Watch circus performers — This weekend kicks off a new weekly series each Friday, 7 pm – 10 pm, at Avenida Houston downtown by Discovery Green. See Circo Avenida featuring acrobats, contortion and more!

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day — 1) Head to Market Square Park for its St. Patrick’s Day celebration beginning at 6 pm. Enjoy games, live music with Murder the Stout, drink specials and more. Located at 301 Milam. 2) The Square at Memorial City is hosting family fun for St. Pat’s with Shamrock at the Square. Enjoy giant games on the green, live music with The Fuse plus green beer and drinks for purchase. Located at Memorial City Mall between Cheesecake Factory and Maggiano’s.

Be amazed with Irish dancing — It’s the Season Opener of spring season at Miller Outdoor Theatre! Don’t miss Michael Londra’s Celtic Fire, a high-energy performance of Irish dancing with music by Irish tenor Michael Londra, lead singer in Broadway’s Riverdance. Performance begins at 8 pm. Reserved covered seats are available on performance day from 10:30 am – 1 pm at Miller Box Office.

SATURDAY

Relax with Tai Chi — Take advantage of a free Tai Chi class each Saturday, 8:30 am, at Katy’s Central Green Park. This practice helps you center your mind, body and spirit. Located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.

Go with the flow — Don’t miss the return of Yoga On The Avenue Saturday, 8:30 am, featuring a free 45-minute flow followed by a guided meditation. This is located at West Ave at River Oaks, 2800 Kirby. Revolution Studio is hosting this free event, which also includes a block party with sips, snacks and giveaways!

Free Weekend Fun in Houston March 17-19See WWII planes — Tour the WWII Museum and visit the Hangar of the Houston Wing of the Commemorative Air Force 10 am – 3 pm. It’s a great chance to get up close to the Wing’s five flyable WWII military aircraft: climb into a cockpit of a WWII trainer or go inside a WWII Paratroop aircraft. Located at West Houston Airport, 2 miles north of I-10 east off Barker Cypress on Groschke Rd.

Enjoy family fun — Get ready for lots of free fun at The Woodlands Family Fun Fest Saturday 10 am – 4 pm. The day features live entertainment, rides, games, a reptile ranch, free kids’ workshop and more. Located at Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Dr. in The Woodlands.

Enjoy art — Don’t miss free Family Day at Contemporary Arts Museum Saturday, 1 pm – 4 pm. Explore the two exhibits (Angel Otero: Everything and Nothing and Origins of the Self) with the Art Guide. And experiment with Fabric Art! Bring your own jeans, shirt, bags or whatever you’d like to Be-dazzle, alter, decorate, sew. A limited supply of totes and bandanas will be available onsite. A fashion show is at 3:30 pm. Located at 5216 Montrose.

Listen to live music — Enjoy live music outdoors at Noche Caliente with legendary salsa singer Ray De La Paz performing with Houston’s premier youth group Caliente. This is directed by Grammy Music Educator Finalist Jose Antonio Diaz. Music begins at 8 pm at Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park Dr.

Celebrate spring at Bayou Bend — Don’t miss free Family Day at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens as it celebrates spring. The event is Sunday, 1 pm – 5 pm, featuring music, art, crafts, demonstrations, tours of the first floor home, workshops and more. Located at 6003 Memorial Dr.

Enjoy praise and worship — Enjoy a praise and worship experience with local Christian group, Kist by Grace,  at Central Green Park. Picnic and lawn chairs welcome. The performance begins at 3:30 pm. Located at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.
