Houston Tunnel Restaurants – The Best Food in Downtown Tunnels
Pastel Pizza

As one of the most popular restaurants in the Houston Tunnels, this is one of the few places in Houston that serves authentic Venezuelan cuisine. At Pastel Pizza, the pastelitos, which are a type of fried pastry filled with different fillings, are a popular item. They’re available in a variety of flavors, including cheese, chicken, beef, and pizza.

Luchi & Joey’s
This is one of the Houston Tunnel restaurants that’s a family-owned and operated business. With its casual and relaxed atmosphere, this is a local to-go spot for tacos. We personally think that the barbacoa tacos are a must-try and the huevos rancheros are delicious.

Star Chef Dumpling House
As you browse through the different Houston Tunnels restaurants, Star Chef probably caught your eye because they specialize in dumplings, but also serve other dishes such as noodles, rice, and stir-fries. Get the Pork or Shrimp Dumplings here!

Unlike other Downtown Houston Tunnel restaurants, this is one of the oldest restaurants in town, having opened in 1978. With its cafeteria-style interior, you’ll enjoy the hearty portions of fried chicken, gumbo, and jambalaya.

Miller’s Cafe Downtown
Miller’s Cafe is only one of the restaurants in Tunnels, Downtown Houston but it’s been around for more than 40 years! The restaurant was founded in 1980 by Bob Miller and his family, and it’s been a popular spot for downtown workers and visitors ever since. Make sure to get the Almost Famous Burder that’s a half-pound burger made with fresh, never-frozen beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles.

This is one of the Downtown Tunnel restaurants that’s located in the city. The Underground Hall features a variety of vendors serving up global cuisine, plus draft beer & happy-hour specials. Check out Birrieria El Jaliciense for authentic Mexican birria tacos or Falafel Bros for a more Middle Eastern menu.

Being family-owned and operated, Zydeco is casual and perfect for families and groups of friends. We recommend the Po-Boy or Crawfish Etoufee here before finishing off your meal with some Beignets.

Potente
Like other restaurants in the Houston Tunnels, Potente features fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the dishes are prepared with care and attention to detail. As a more upscale and elegant restaurant, the staff is knowledgeable about the food and wine. If you ask for a recommendation, they’ll probably suggest the Spaghetti al Tartufo Nero.
