What a brilliant idea! Game City Showcase is a four-night community event encouraging locals to get out and explore different parts of town before the Big Game and ride the rail to get there.

I’m proud to be a sponsor and ambassador of this event.

Game City Showcase: Houston Free Fun for #SB51

Here’s the scoop: each night features a different neighborhood offering a variety of free activities and food from 6 pm – 9 pm.

  • January 30: Midtown
  • January 31: Theater District
  • February 1: Eado
  • February 2: Museum District

Get ready to celebrate Houston’s amazing nonprofits, venues, neighborhoods and restaurants! Enjoy free food and beverages in the Football Food Crawl each night featuring area restaurants’ favorite dishes. Simply show the Houstonia Gastronaut app for your free samplings! Other events include art crawl, Upcycled Fashion Show, Museum programming and extended hours, Scavenger Hunt, live music and more. And it’s all free.

Thursday evening is Houston on the Cheap Museum Night Experience! I will be at The Health Museum to meet folks, offer giveaways, and encourage kids to color a Houston skyline pic. Craft beer will be at The Health Museum as part of its presentation on beer and the Body, tied to its new Body exhibit! Kids can enjoy the city’s only Super Bowl-themed fun at Children’s Museum of Houston, open free 5 pm till 9 pm Thursday. Other participating museums with free admission and programming/extended hours are Asia Society Texas, Houston Holocaust Museum, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Houston Center for Photography, and The Menil.
