409 Day 2026 – What to Expect

On Thursday, April 9, Texas City will showcase its community spirit with special events, discounts, and giveaways throughout the day. Named for the area code and held on 4/09, this day has quickly become a local favorite tradition.
The city itself is kicking things off with some amazing budget-friendly perks:
- Free Admission: Explore local history at the Texas City Museum all day.
- Active Fun: Grab a $4.09 day pass to the Lowry Fitness Center or $4.09 buckets of balls at the Bayou Golf Course range.
- Nature Walks: Visit the butterfly garden at Bay Street Park to see special floral displays shaped like a “409.”
- The Scavenger Hunt Finale: 409 Day also marks the exciting conclusion of the Scavenger Hunt III: 409 Protocol! Make sure to complete your last mission of finding that one last QR code. It is within 6th Street Community Plaza during the 409 Day festivities. Remember the first Agent to submit a completed packet wins!
The 409 Day Community Celebration

The festivities culminate in a massive community celebration at the 6th Street Community Plaza (718 6th Street) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This event is completely FREE to attend and features:
- Mechanical bull rides and animal adoptions
- DJ, Karaoke, and airbrushed hats
- Face painting, crafts, and games for kids
- Special giveaways—including treats for dogs in attendance!
