Lunar New Year Event for All Ages

The Lunar New Year is a time of vibrant celebration, family traditions, and honoring the start of a new year in the lunar calendar. Houston, with its rich cultural diversity, transforms into a hub of festive energy during this season, offering an array of events that beautifully showcase Asian heritage and traditions.

Some of the most anticipated events include the Lunar New Year Festival + Night Market in Downtown Houston, an exciting gathering featuring delectable street food, colorful lion dances, and dazzling red lantern displays that light up the night. This event is a favorite of mine.

Another must-visit is the Lunar New Year at Discovery Green, where family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and interactive cultural exhibits create an unforgettable experience. The Radiant Nature at the Houston Botanic Garden has towering ginkgo and pine trees, a majestic Chinese temple, a geometric dome, pandas with bamboo, and many other captivating installations.

Meanwhile, the Texas Lunar Festival is a grand celebration known for its spectacular stage performances, martial arts showcases, and elaborate dragon parades that captivate attendees of all ages.

Whether you’re a long-time Houstonian or new to the area, these celebrations are perfect for connecting with the local community while welcoming the year ahead with joy and prosperity.
