Best Things to do in Galveston this Weekend of December 2, 2022 – Friday
What: Prepare to enjoy a merry trip down this mile-long path lined with more than two million lights and illuminated images set to seasonal music as it winds through the Moody Gardens grounds and offers breathtaking views of Galveston Bay. Along the route, there are lots of photo and selfie opportunities, as well as stops where you may view Star the Dancing Tree of Light, hot cocoa, S’mores by the fire, and other holiday fares.

What: Dickens on The Strand, presented by the Galveston Historical Foundation, is in its 49th year. The annual festival, which has excellent family entertainment, musical performances, unique events, and more, is held the first weekend in December. The Dickens on The Strand celebration includes parades, nonstop entertainment on four stages, new additions including Tiny Tim’s Play Land and Shopkeeper Skills Village, and wandering characters.
Dickens on The Strand is based on 19th-century Victorian London. A variety of holiday-themed gifts, food and beverages, crafts made in the Victorian style, apparel, jewelry, and holiday decorations are all sold by costumed sellers from street stalls and rolling carts.
