What: Attend this exciting concert which is simply a brilliant, hot Jazz induced evening of vintage frivolity and scintillating burlesque! New York bandleader Dandy Wellington and Houston’s Peter Pecker will be coming to Galveston for a show that will be taking over the newly opened Grand Galvez Founder’s Bar. Guests can also dress up like royalty to witness the grand queen’s cabaret! The event is part of the Galveston Island Beach Revue.

Galveston College: In-Person Cooking Class: Larb Gai (Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps)

Sur La Table Summer Camps in Houston

Kids and Teens Summer Series by Sur La Table calls on all young chefs to get ready for five fun-filled days of cooking, learning, and laughter at the Sur La Table kitchens.

The classes will be small and hands-on allowing for plenty of mixing, prepping and cooking. The instructors are both talented chefs and teachers, and they will make sure that everyone has a great time. Young cooks will explore menus full of exciting discoveries, from how to prepare favorite dishes to new twists on classic desserts.

Galveston Reads: Author Visit with Lynda Rutledge

What: Author Lynda Rutledge will be coming to Galveston College to talk about her work, West with Giraffes which will be followed by a QnA as well as a book signing session. Get your copy of the acclaimed writer’s work signed which tells the story of Woodrow Wilson Nickel, who goes off on a 12-day road trip in 1938 to introduce southern California to its first giraffes amidst the Great Depression and the terror of the world war.
