Last Updated On – 9th November, 2025

Every year, more than 230,000 Texan adults are diagnosed with diabetes. And when someone in the family has diabetes, everyone feels it—the daily choices, the constant care, the unspoken worries. That shared experience is what fuels the Step Out Walk 2025, an event that brings Houstonians like you and me together to walk, connect, and spark hope for change.

This year’s walk promises to be bigger, brighter, and more impactful than ever. Learn more about what the event holds for you in our guide.

Step Out Walk 2025 Recognition Program

Fundraising is at the heart of the Step Out® Walk 2025, and every effort counts toward changing lives. To celebrate that generosity, the American Diabetes Association has created the Step Out Walk Recognition Program, a way to thank participants who go the extra mile in supporting diabetes research, advocacy, and awareness.

Here’s how your impact gets recognized:

  • Raise $100 and you’ll receive the official Step Out Walk T-shirt, proudly marking your contribution to the cause.
  • Reach $250, $500, or even $1,000+ and you’ll get to choose a special gift based on your highest fundraising level. (Awards are not cumulative. Each tier comes with its own exclusive reward.)

If you’d rather have your entire contribution go directly toward funding the ADA’s mission, you can opt out of recognition gifts during registration. Every dollar still goes exactly where it matters most: supporting education, prevention, and life-changing research.

You can also connect with friends and family and encourage them to help out through the DonorDrive app, Facebook, email, and more.
