The Texas City Art Festival is a multi-faceted celebration of creativity, and you can see that through three different events:
The Adult Juried Show
The centerpiece of the festival is the Adult Juried Art Show. You’ll find professional and amateur work across four primary categories: Under Glass Hanging, Not Under Glass Hanging, Photography, and Three-Dimensional (3D) art. Both professional and amateur artists can participate, so the competition can be fierce.
The standout piece earns the coveted “Best of Show” award along with a $500 prize.
The Student Show
Texas City takes great pride in its young creatives. The Student Show highlights the work of local K-12 students, giving them a professional platform to display their art. It’s an inspiring section of the festival that often features surprising depth and skill.
Interactive Workshops
Beyond viewing the art, you can also create it! The festival typically hosts free art workshops. However, space is limited and pre-registration is required, so be sure to register early to secure your spot.
You can register by email at texascityart@gmail.com. All workshops will be held at the Nessler Civic Center.
