Celebrate Christmas in July with Houston Ballet Academy’s The Nutcracker Workshop!

I love that Christmas is coming early for the little ones as they step into the world of The Nutcracker in this workshop. For this week-long workshop, young dancers will learn about the story and help bring it to life through movement and creative crafts.
From twirling like the Sugar Plum Fairy to marching like The Nutcracker, every day will be filled with fun as the kids engage their imaginations while learning some ballet magic.
For ages: 4 – 7 years old
Camp dates: July 21 – 25, 2025
- Ages 4 – 5: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
- Ages 6 – 7: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Cost: $400; due at the time of registration.
Tuition includes two tickets to the Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker performance on either November 30 at 6:30 pm or December 12 at 7:30 pm.

Immerse yourself in the world-premiere of Stanton Welch’s Raymonda!

Inspired by Stanton Welch’s brand-new take on the classic ballet Raymonda, this week-long program invites young dancers, both boys and girls, to explore the story through movement, music, and hands-on crafts.
With themes of love, bravery, and friendship woven throughout, kids will dance their way through the tale of Raymonda and her sisters, each of whom embarks on their own journey with a noble duke.
Half of the workshop is dedicated to learning ballet-inspired movement, while the other half allows students to unleash their creativity through fun craft projects. No prior experience is needed—just imagination and a love for dance!
For ages: 4 – 7 years old
Camp dates: June 2 – 6, 2025
- Ages 4 – 5: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
- Ages 6 – 7: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Cost: $400; due at the time of registration.
Each participant will also receive two tickets to see Houston Ballet’s world premiere of Raymonda on June 8, 2025.
Boys Do Ballet, Too! – Boys Workshop

The Houston Ballet Academy’s Boys Workshop is designed exclusively for young male dancers, giving them the tools to build strength, agility, and technique in an exciting and supportive environment. Through high-energy ballet training, strength-building exercises, and dynamic movement exploration, boys will develop athleticism, discipline, and artistry, skills that benefit both dance and sports.
With two class options, beginners with little to no experience can explore the fundamentals of ballet, while more experienced dancers can refine their technique in a supportive and high-energy environment.
For ages: 8 – 15 years old
Camp dates: June 2 – 6, 2025
- Group A (little to no experience): 4:30 pm – 7:00 pm
- Group B (at least 3 years experience): 4:30 pm – 7:45 pm
Group A tuition: $300; due at the time of registration.
Group B tuition: $325; due at the time of registration.
FREE Prospective Student Events!
Thinking about enrolling your child in a dance program? The Houston Ballet Academy is offering FREE prospective student events this May. Here, you and the kids can take sample classes, meet the instructors, and ask any questions you might have about their workshops. If your kids are interested in dance, I recommend signing up.

Free Boys Trial Class

In this athletic introductory class, boys aged 7 – 10 will spend a few hours with Orlando Molina, Houston Ballet Academy’s Boys Manager, learning what makes the Houston Ballet Academy’s program outstanding and having fun discovering a new world of dance.
When: May 18, 2025, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Preschool Open House

Here, each batch of interested kiddos will experience a fun 30-minute class. Afterward, parents can join the kids in a 30-minute Q&A with the Preschool Principal and an Academy Administrator.
When: May 31, 2025
- Age 2: 11:00 am
- Ages 3 – 4: 12:00 pm
- Ages 5 – 6: 1:00 pm

Preschool Summer Classes (ages 2-7)

The Houston Ballet Academy’s Preschool Summer classes introduce children ages 2-7 to the magic of movement in a creative and inspiring environment. Designed to nurture coordination, musicality, and self-expression, these classes provide the perfect first step into the world of ballet—no auditions required!
The best part is that there are so many options such as parent and me classes, creative dance, elementary ballet, and more.
