This Christmas tradition offers a captivating experience for visitors with its enchanting light displays and a warm, festive atmosphere. The event highlights the strong community spirit of Woodland Heights, showcasing beautifully decorated homes and fun entertainment.

When is Lights in the Heights 2023?

Lights in the Heights 2023, organized by the Woodland Heights Civic Organization, is taking place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 6 pm to 9 pm! The roads in the area are closed off, allowing Houstonians and visitors to wander the streets in Woodland Heights and enjoy the beautifully decorated homes.

Although the official Lights in the Heights is this weekend, the Christmas lights in the Heights will be up for the remainder of the month. You can always take a walk through the neighborhood and view the extravagant displays.


Parking for Houston Lights in the Heights 2023 and Other Information

For Lights in the Heights 2023 attendees should note the following:

  • “No Parking” signs will be enforced on December 9th, with the risk of ticketing or towing starting from noon on December 10th. If possible, it’s best not to drive to Lights in the Heights. 
  • Streets including Bayland, Woodland, and adjacent cross streets between Beauchamp and Studewood will be closed from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
  • Residents along the event route can access their properties but should avoid parking on the streets and keep identification or a utility bill handy.

Where: Highland and Omar Streets, Woodland Heights, Houston, TX
How much: FREE; some porch parties and performances are exclusive for residents only.

Lights in the Heights is put on by the Lights in the Heights committee, the Woodland Heights neighborhood, and local sponsors. Keep in mind that this is a family-friendly event and Woodland Heights is inviting you into their community. Be respectful of the neighborhood, don’t touch or take any decorations, and don’t forget that any private parties going on are not for public access.
