Bellaire 4th of July Parade

The City of Bellaire invites you to a Celebration of Independence Parade and Festival! The parade will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by the festival.      

Parade – starts at 9:30 AM

          – The Parade will start at South Rice Ave. and Valerie St.

          – Children’s Bike Parade will start at South Rice Ave. and Evergreen St.

          – Both parades will end at South Rice Ave. and Linden St.

Festival – starts after the Parade (approx. 10:00 am)

Enjoy amazing views of Downtown Houston while celebrating the Fourth of July with the Houston Brass Band on the largest rooftop park in America, at the former Barbara Jordan Post Office building. The Houston Brass Band’s patriotic music can be heard while taking in the Downtown fireworks display on the POST’s five-acre Skylawn rooftop.

Katy Freedom Celebration

The City of Katy in partnership with Typhoon Texas’s “Red White & Boom” event, will host the annual Freedom Celebration fireworks display. When parking for the firework display please do not move street closure barricades and do not park on roadway shoulders or street medians – this is for public safety and helps with traffic control after the show.

Other 4th of July Fests and Shows in Houston for 2022

Shell Freedom Over Texas 2022

This year’s Freedom Over Texas will return to an in-person event filled with six-hours of festivities, tradition, and live concert stages, along Allen Parkway. Freedom Over Texas will feature local, regional, and national entertainment and will be capped off with a musically choreographed, “Texas-sized” fireworks finale. This event has become Houston’s annual signature July 4th celebration with an average of 50,000 people in attendance and is televised live in Houston. The event will solicit television affiliates from across the state of Texas to simulcast a portion of the event. Freedom Over Texas will feature a unique non-profit component that joins forces with the Houston Food Bank to help fill an extraordinary demand in our regional community. The event will donate a percentage of food and beverage sales to the Houston Food Bank. We look forward to enjoying a fun, engaging, and safe event for our nation’s birthday.

This year, guests will celebrate more than America’s Freedom at the city’s signature Independence Day event, as this year marks the 60th anniversary of NASA Johnson Space Center’s presence in Houston. Shell Freedom Over Texas has partnered with Johnson Space Center, to bring an exclusive Space City Experience featuring its storied history and upcoming Artemis missions to the Moon and beyond. The signature area will include an opportunity to be up close and personal with NASA astronauts, robotic demonstrations, virtual reality fieldtrips to the International Space Station, the Space Exploration Vehicle, Destination Station trailer, and other NASA exhibits and activities. Come explore the next giant leap with us – which starts here in Space City!

Liberty Fest

The Southwest Management District is hosting Liberty Fest in partnership with the Sharpstown Civic Association. Food booths, games,  entertainment for children in a Kids Zone, live music and other performances, will all lead up to a spectacular fireworks show at 9 pm.
 
Admission and parking are free for this family-friendly event where no alcohol will be allowed.  
 
This is the third festival hosted by Southwest District at PlazAmericas Mall.  Longtime residents of the Sharpstown area have fond memories of watching fireworks and celebrating Independence Day, July 4th,  at the mall, at the former Sharpstown Mall.

Fourth of July Drone Show Over The Gulf in Galveston Island

New in 2022, Galveston Island is bringing you a one-of-a-kind drone show for the Fourth of July! Watch at 9:00 p.m. or 10:30 p.m. as hundreds of drones launch right from the beach at the 37th Street Groin (the same location where we have hosted the July 4th celebrations in years past.)

The show lasts approximately 12 minutes and include 12 custom formations including fireworks bursts, patriotic images, and island features such as birds, sea turtles and fish.

Because there is no concern regarding falling debris as found in traditional fireworks shows, the sections of beach on either side of the 37th Street Groin, will remain open during the show and viewers will be able to occupy those areas and get right up in the action!
