Houston Waterparks – 6 Top Water Parks for Summer Fun
At Schlitterbahn Galveston, three unique park parts connect for a mile of enjoyment. With high-speed slides like Rohr!, MASSIV, and the immersive Screaming Serpents body slide, the waterpark is a thrill-seeker’s dream!

This is one of the favorite and longest-running Houston area water parks. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown truly has something for everyone. In recent years, they’ve added a new six-story water slide — Wahoo Wave — while also making other improvements throughout the park.
The newly redesigned Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown play area has plenty of room for the youngest of kids. If that isn’t thrilling enough for the little ones, they can frolic in the Tree House which has three levels of interactive fun for the whole family. From the Paradise River to the Big Drain, you have your choice of a lazy afternoon or a thrilling adventure.

Moody Gardens is more than just another Houston area water park- it’s a zoo, a hotel, a water park, a museum, and an amusement park all in one. Some of the best attractions include the Aquarium Pyramid is teeming with creatures like tuxedo-clad penguins to slippery stingrays. Or, you can bask in the sun on Palm Beach with a lazy river, wave pool, tower slides, and more. For those wanting a more relaxing, in-door experience, check out the 3D and 4D theaters playing a range of shows to excite your senses.
A seasonal membership will be $60 including Palm Beach, Ropes Course, and the Zip Line. Valid only for the current season. An annual membership costs $100 and allows unlimited entrance to most of their attractions year-round. It pays for itself in just two visits!

Typhoon Texas in Katy is one of the smaller Houston area water parks, but it’s still packed with attractions and family fun.
Kick back and cool off in Tidal Wave Bay, hold onto your hat on the slides at The Snake Pit, or time your wait for the water bucket at Gully Washer park. There are attractions for all ages and abilities! One of the best water parks in Houston!

Flowrider, Body Slides, Space Bowl, and Mat Racer are just some of the attractions you’ll find at Baytown’s own Pirate’s Bay. The crossing activities, play structure, and lazy river are perfect for younger kids. Teenagers and grown-ups can get their kicks on the Colorado Drop Slide and the rest of the park.
The park also allows you to bring in your picnics and coolers at no extra charge, making this one of the most affordable water parks in the Houston area!
