Parking

Skip the hunt for a spot right beside the park and head to one of the city’s designated festival parking lots.

Free parking is available at:

  • Blocker Middle School (1800 9th Ave. N.)
  • Texas City High School (1431 9th Ave. N.)
  • Simpson Education Support Center (1700 9th Ave. N.)

All three are within walking distance of Nessler Park, so you can park and make your way to the music.

Make It a Day Trip

Driving down from Houston? Turn your trip to the Texas City Music Festival into a coastal afternoon before the music starts.

Head to the Texas City Dike, a 5.3-mile stretch extending into Galveston Bay, where you can take in the water views, watch boats pass through the channel, or stroll along the waterfront.

If history is more your thing, stop by the Texas City Museum to explore exhibits featuring photographs and artifacts from the 1947 Texas City Disaster, along with displays about the city’s founding and local heritage. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM, making it a good afternoon stop before you head to Nessler Park for the festival.

Dining Near the Park

Save room for a proper meal before heading to the festival. For Tex-Mex, Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen on Emmett F. Lowry Expressway serves crowd-pleasers like fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, and queso.

If you’d rather have a more casual, pub-style dinner, The Garden (formerly Stuttgarden Tavern) serves burgers, wings, bratwurst, and shareable bites alongside a full bar.

Both are on the expressway rather than right beside Nessler Park, so factor in the drive back before the festival begins.
