Walk With Me Houston 2022 – Ambassadors cutting the starting line
The 12th annual Walk With Me Houston event is back, and it’s time to lace up those sneakers and hit the pavement for a great cause! This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better than ever before, as participants come together to support Easter Seals Greater Houston, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping over 14,500 people with disabilities live their best lives.
About Walk With Me Houston 2023
Walk With Me is a 5K Family Fun Walk through the Houston Zoo presented by Prosperity Bank, that benefits Easter Seals Greater Houston, which provides services for people of all ages with all types of disabilities. Each participant will receive a full day at the zoo, a t-shirt, and entry into the after-party, which includes food, entertainment, and a children’s carnival.
This 5K amongst the lions, giraffes, and elephants is fun for the entire community and raises crucial funds for disability and veteran/military connected services. By participating in Walk With Me on Saturday, April 22 you are helping connect people like Duncan, one of the event’s Ambassadors, to the services that are helping them reach their highest potential.
Duncan suffered from a stroke when he was less than a week old. His parents sat in disbelief outside of the neonatal intensive care unit, having difficultly processing the neurologist’s words. “Your son may not walk, talk or see.” Unsure of what lay ahead for their newborn with serious medical issues, they began to connect with specialists.
Nearly two decades later, Duncan can now walk, talk and see, thanks to his large care team and the wrap-around services he and his parents have received from Easter Seals Greater Houston. They have loved everything from the Parents’ Night Out program that provided respite for his mom and dad to the fantastic summer camp programming that Duncan adored. Today, Duncan is in his third year at The Caroline School and is thriving thanks to the dedication of the outstanding teaching team. He also utilizes the on-site Children’s Therapy Clinic whose therapists are intensely committed to his progress and collaborate closely with his parents.

Walk With Me Houston 2023 – Event Details, Registration, & Donation
Walk With Me Houston 2023
Walk With Me Houston is a fun-filled day of walking, animal shows, music, and more. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to join in the festivities. The route is stroller and wheelchair-friendly, so everyone can participate and make a difference.

Start Time: 8:00 AM
End Time: 10:30 AM
Where: Houston Zoo – 6200 Hermann Park Drive, Houston, TX
Registration for Walk With Me Houston is open now, and participants are encouraged to register at WalkWithMeHouston.org by April 19th in order to avoid the day-of-registration line.
Registering for the walk is free, but each individual walker MUST donate or raise a minimum of $50 in order to participate in the walk; or your team needs to raise enough as a whole to cover each walker signed up ($50 x Number of Walkers on your team = Total fundraising dollars needed). Children under the age of 12 are free, but donations are appreciated.
All proceeds from the event go directly to Easter Seals Greater Houston, so you can feel good knowing that your participation is making a real difference in the lives of veterans, service members, and children and adults with disabilities.
