2025 ABC13 Earth Day E-Cycle Drive

ABC13’s annual Earth Day E-Cycle Drive in Houston provides a free drive-thru event for residents to recycle their unwanted electronics, collecting nearly 100,000 lbs each year. CompuCycle ensures data security through hard drive wiping and processes the materials for new products. This is where I take my old electronics every year!

This initiative significantly benefits the environment by diverting e-waste from landfills, preventing toxin release, reducing greenhouse gases, and conserving resources.

In 2024 alone, the event achieved substantial environmental impacts, including diverting 240.92 lbs of toxic metals and saving 3,736,637.20 hours of electricity. ABC13’s E-Cycle Drive also holds the Guinness World Record for the largest single-day e-waste collection.
