Houston hospitals

 

Make sure to check out the hospital visitor policies at Houston hospitals before heading out to visit a hospitalized friend. COVID-19 has changed the way some Houston hospitals are doing business. While information is changing rapidly to meet the healthcare needs of patients, this is the most current information that we have regarding Houston hospital visitors’ hours. That said, before heading out to visit a friend, you might want to call the hospital and ensure that visiting information you have is correct.

No Visitors Allowed

The following medical centers are not allowing visitors at this time.

  • Baylor College of Medicine OBGYN Clinic (3rd floor)
  • Ben Taub Hospital/LBJ Hospital – Only medically necessary visitors will be allowed
  • HCA Houston mainland
  • HCA Houston Tomball
  • HCA Houston West
  • MD Anderson Cancer Center (limited exceptions available when a patient needs a caregiver)
  • Pavilion for Women
  • University Place
  • VA nursing homes (No VA nursing homes in the country are allowing visitors)

 

One Visitor Per Day

With some exceptions, the following hospitals and medical centers are allowing for one visitor per day.

  • CHI St. Luke’s Health – Visitors for non-COVID patients are allowed from 7am to 8pm
  • HCA Houston Clear Lake – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm
  • HCA Houston Conroe – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm
  • HCA Houston Kingwood – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm
  • HCA Houston Medical Center – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm
  • HCA Houston North Cypress – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm
  • HCA Houston Northwest – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm
  • HCA Houston Pearland – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm
  • HCA Houston Southeast – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm
  • Katy Rehab (Visitor must be over 18) – Visiting hours from 9am to 8pm
  • Memorial Hermann Hospital (Visitor must be over 18) – Visiting hours from 9am to 8pm
  • Methodist Hospital – Visitor screening is required
  • Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center
  • Texas Children’s Hospital – Visitors subject to screening before being allowed to visit
  • Texas Orthopedic Hospital – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm
  • TIRR Memorial Hermann (Visitor must be over 18) – Visiting hours from 9am to 8pm
  • The Woman’s Hospital of Texas – Visiting hours from 6am to 6pm

 

Two Visitors at a Time

These health centers will allow for two visitors per day.

  • Shriners Hospital for Children – Up to one adult and one child visitor per day
  • University of Texas Medical Branch – Up to 2 visitors per day for up to 30 minutes from 4pm to 6 pm

 

Remember, for the most accurate results, you’ll want to call the medical center where your friends or family are admitted before visiting.
